World Cup-winning Springbok lock Lood de Jager will undergo surgery in Cape Town next week.

De Jager, who has signed with the Sale Sharks, dislocated his right shoulder at the end of the first quarter of the World Cup final and is expected to return to full fitness in four to six months.

Meanwhile, SA Rugby has confirmed that Montpellier-bound flyhalf Handré Pollard suffered a fractured eye socket during the match and was operated on in Pretoria on Wednesday. He is expected to be out of action for six weeks.
